ladybug painting

I've put a new doll on my website, this big pirate captain girl (over 10" tall):

I also put two dolls on my Etsy store, and a bunch of these little pendants I made. They're basically things and themes that I would paint on my doll's bodices. I'm happy with them, though I probably should've taken a picture of the pendants against skin, but I didn't want to wrestle Amy away from WoW.

Hazel wears one on her collar:

Rudy's says RUDE DUDE but it's not dry yet.

And I love your pendants, such a great idea, Hazel looks sooooo awesome in hers!

Thank you! I don't get attached to my dolls anymore because I need them to sell but if I had the luxury I might just keep her.

Oh I made you a Blythe icon from the Blythe-a-lizer on Puchicollective.com I wasn't sure what colors you'd like, if you want I can make a more custom one.

Hazel looks like she's hatching an evil plot there.

My Crested Maggie has a metal collar tag bearing the words Sniff my bottom...

Hazel is ALWAYS hatching an evil plot, they mostly revolve around trying to get everyone's food by tripping them.

Sniff my bottom is very cute, and much more polite than the slogan I had originally thought of for Hazel. I would do pet tags but really polymer clay isn't tough enough, even the way I have them done for sturdiness.

Alice's evil plots tend to revolve around opening the baby gate we use to keep the mutts in the kitchen when we're not around to supervise them in the living room. She's very good at opening it with her mouth - the day she fathoms the childlock mechanism as well, we really will be in trouble.

No, I can't imagine that fimo-type clay would stand up well to the abuse a dog throws at their apparel. Plus, they'd probably try and eat it.

OH!!! I love her!!!

The pendants are so cute! I used to paint tiny little animal pins years ago on little wood rounds, but I don't think I can paint small like that anymore in my old age.

Oh, I'm sure you could still squint and see the pins if you TRIED, Grandma Bosler. I would LOVE to see you make little pins and pendants, they would be crazy cute. I guess you could do wee prints and decoupage them on?

that is really awesome!!! and I love the way you painted that new doll. Maybe this sounds weird but the colors are really nice

It doesn't sound weird, thanks! The colors might be all warm and rosy because of the blue backdrop making it look idyllic or something, plus I blushed her cheeks instead of painting blush on her.

What art supplies did you sell on Etsy?

Ok.. I had a good response here but my computer is being scary and doing things of its own volition so I lost it.

In short I sold a lot of paints, and some pocket sized address books that you add a cover to. But they sell EVERYTHING.

You are such a doll, thanks! I will send it out ASAP with your other present. I want you to pleaaaaaaaase take pictures of yourself wearing it! That way on Etsy people will know that if such a stylish lady wears the pendants, then they must have one too.

I'm really sorry for posting this on LJ. But I thought that just a small Ebay feedback wouldn't be enough to say how incredible I thought the doll was. I just received it today and I have to say that I am thrilled with her. She is so tiny and adorable! All those details you've put into her, it's simply amazing!!! Those dolls are true work of art and I really hope that I will be able to purchase others soon. (I would LOVE to have one of your pirate gals!)

So, yeah, I just wanted to drop by and personnally thank you for the beautiful doll. I absolutely adore her to bits!

P.S.: I hope you don't mind me asking, but what do you use to to the wiring of the dolls? Is it some kind of elastic tied with knots at the end? I'm really curious!

Thank you so much, both for the comment here and the positive feedback on Ebay. I really appreciate it. I'm glad your doll arrived safely and that you like her, it means more coming from someone whose artwork I admire so much.

I usually use a sturdy kind of jeweler's elastic.
