Did I ever mention my red hat pirate doll? She's new on the Etsy store, and she's the last of my Randy Lambert dolls so I'm feeling sentimental about her and her resin perfection. Resin is actually really nice to paint on, and since I didn't have to actually sculpt the doll I could spend much more time decorating and painting her. Red Hat has some pretty groovy detailing going on, if I do say so myself.

Hot weather tires Hazel out, so lately she's been chilling out on the bench next to me, snoring and munching air in contentment. I had to put Chap-Stick on her nose earlier, and she was pretty disgruntled by it. The sounds of her peevishly licking the Chap-Stick off her nose was pretty funny, and later I gave her a bite of stale croissant to keep up her spirits.

I've decided that I'm going to update Romanceville on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. I updated on Monday and I have Wednesday's post waiting in the wings, so we'll see how this schedule goes. Scanning the stories isn't too bad, but color correcting them can be a nightmare, since even the best comics were printed on really cheap paper that has slowly turned nicotine orange. I think I need a new scanner, as well, since mine seems to be losing its focus in places.
So, go on and read the MUCHACHO story! I was going to post it much sooner, but getting home at 7:30/8pm really put a damper on your energy. I'm so tired! Last night I didn't have the energy to boil water for spaghetti and just made myself a lukewarm meatball sandwich for dinner.

I think that's about it, as updates go.

She's very pretty. I love how the green eyes work with the red outfit.
Now I am on my way to Romanceville.
I sure hope somebody else mops the bathroom here, as I am so busy right now.
I only use it at night to read for a little bit, but a lightbulb only lasts about 2 weeks in it, maybe less, and then dies. Do you think I bought a box of dud lightbulbs or is there a problem with old lamps where their wiring messes up the light bulb? Should I just rewire it? I remember you saying once it was pretty easy and I really like the lamp,it's very "ladies boudoir".
Shitty old wiring could be the problem. 2 weeks is way too short a life.
You can buy kits, with new socket/switch components, and lamp wire, at most home improvement chain stores.
Here's a nice little video that makes it all look SOOOO easy!

Cast about amongst your freinds and relatives, do any of them have the tools and the mad skills?
I have a gorgeous old lamp from the 40's, the base is a ceramic Chinese lady playing a lute and now that I think about it, my mother bought that for me at a thrift store and had my father rewire it for me as a Christmas present.
So he must have the knowledge! I think I'll just buy the kit and see if a spaghetti dinner can wheedle him into working on it. That and I have a towel bar that needs to be installed! I really need to take a class so I can learn to be a handy lady. The only thing I know how to do is reset a garbage disposal, it's embarassing.
Mmm I need to hit Ebay for "vintage Chinese lamp"!
Of course you need to hit ebay for "vintage Chinese lamp", also "old oriental lamp" "Vintage asian lamp" "retro chinese lamp" etc, etc!
i went to a flea market last wk (first time in literally yrs) and bought 4 romance comics!
i've not read them yet, i'll see if they are up to your standards and send them on if they are and you can use them. i will take photos and post when i am able.
The comics were marked half price, only $2 each. The main building wasn't opened for shopping, we were able to get into a few of the antique furniture places and that is where I found the comics. It is supposed to be opened Thurs-Sun and we could go into the main building but no dealers were there, only the tables covered in sheets and cloths and a few dealers were unloading stuff but no one opened for business. I plan to go back on saturday or sunday.
